This may be a couple of years old but it is just to funny.  If you have cats and tech I am sure you can  commiserate.

This looks like a really cool new playtoy.  Have downloaded it on my My Touch phone.   See how it goes.

barackobama:

Merry Christmas and happy holidays from the Obamas!

Lovely Christmas message from The President and Mrs. Obama

I got to see the film War Horse on Monday through my membership in the New York SAG/WGAE Film Society.
Absolutely loved it.  The cinematography was wonderful depicting both the beauty of the English and French Countryside and the bleakness and devastation of war.   Some of the scenes are a little hard to watch because they do depict the harshness of WWI (not overly graphic though).   And as a lover of horses some of the scenes depicting the harsh treatment of horses in that war were not easy to watch.   The horse actors and human actors all did wonderful work in telling the story.   Great directing by Stephen Spielberg.
In the Broadway version the staging and the use of puppetry to depict the horses is fantastic but the movie version is just as compelling if not more poignant with the real horses.
So I wholeheartedly recommend it.  Though I would not suggest it for young children.
Also loved the score by John Williams.

I am totally revamping my Tumblr account.   Now it will feature pictures that I have taken of my adventures here in NYC and beyond.   I will also share other things that strike my fancy that I find on the internet, in books, on TV and/or wherever the desire to share may strike.
what better place to start than with the first picture I took with my wonderful My Touch Smartphone.
Of course it was a picture of my kitty Aengus.
For those that don’t know Aengus came into my life after his previous owners left him behind in their apartment after they moved.  They left him alone with no food, water or litter box.  Although I don’t understand why someone would do this for any reason it baffles me even more since Aengus was declawed and neutered.   Now I totally don’t agree with declawing a cat but I do know that it is a rather expensive operation.   So why put that much money into a pet and then just abandon him?
Well he is mine now - and has a forever home with me.   It has taken awhile but he has pretty much adjusted to his home.   He still does get scared at loud noises and drinks water out of the commode (probably because that was the only water he had access to before and knows he can trust water to be there.)   But I think he now trusts that when I leave him I do come back.
